The Phreesia check-in pad
We have started a new check-in process at Stone Creek Family Medicine using Phreesia touch screen check-in pads. The Phreesia pads take the information you enter and transfers it wirelessly in a secure manner to our staff. The advantages of using this system compared to the old clipboard method are the following:
• We are able to get updated and accurate information on all patients
• Decreases mistakes by eliminating the transfer of handwritten information
• We no longer have to use staff time to scan printed forms into your chart so they can focus on other job functions that add to your entire patient experience
• We no longer have to use staff time to check current insurance status such as co-pays because the Phreesia pads do that automatically
• The pads eliminate the need to print forms so we end up saving a lot of paper waste
We recognize that for some people this new process may seem to be time consuming. We will not allow this to take away time with your doctor. We will still bring you back when the nurse is ready for you and information can be collected in the patient rooms if necessary. In fact, in the long run, this new system will make the office run more efficiently and improve your overall patient experience.
The first time you use the Phreesia pad it will take about the same amount of time as a new patient interview, as we need to collect detailed information to enhance the care we provide. This new patient interview (10-14 minutes) will occur no matter how long you have been a patient at Stone Creek. However, subsequent visits will include a much shorter version of the interview (2-4 minutes). If you could arrive a little early for your next appointment, that would help us out tremendously.
